Impress your guests (and family) with this fabulous dessert. Its delectable flavor will be sure to please their palette!
STRAWBERRIES ROMANOFF (serves 8)
Your Ingredients:
4 pints fresh strawberries
1/3 c confectioner’s sugar (or to taste)
1/3 c Grand Marnier (or other orange-flavored liqueur)
16 oz low calorie whipped cream
1 pint light sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 T honey
2 oranges
few sprigs of mint
WASH and remove the stems from the strawberries. Pat dry with a paper towel. Slice each berry lengthwise in half and place in a bowl.
ADD the confectioner’s sugar and liqueur to strawberries, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. You will need to stir at least once during maceration to make sure that the sugar has dissolved.
ZEST the oranges with a lemon zester to make delicate strips of orange rind for garnish. If you don’t have a zester, use a swivel type potato peeler or a regular grater to lightly shred the orange rind. Be careful not to peel or grate into the white pithy part, as it is quite bitter.
JUST before serving, gently fold together the whipped cream, sour cream, vanilla and honey until blended. Fold in your strawberries and place in 8 dessert bowls or fancy stemware. Garnish with sprigs of mint and zest.

? Although I haven't tried this recipe without Grand Marnier or Cointreau...has anyone made a non-alcoholic version and used orange extract instead? Please just hit the comment button below and let me know if you've made a version that's kid-friendly.
Always Enjoy!
